Anesthesiology is the practice of medicine devoted to the complete care of the patient before, during, and after the surgery.

An Anesthesiologist meets the patient before the scheduled surgery and goes through the medical history to manage the medical problems that could arise, with various specialists. Any problems that come up during the surgery be it related to the lungs, heart, kidneys or other organs will be diagnosed and treated instantly by the Anesthesiologist. It also includes treating and regulating the changes in the critical life functions, like breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, fluid balancing, and blood loss. They are also in control of critically ill patients in the surgical ICU and catheterization labs.

General Surgery
